BlackBerry Priv Android slider phone will be available on Verizon, too

It looks like AT&T won’t have a domestic exclusive on the BlackBerry Priv after all. Verizon Wireless has hinted on Twitter that it, too, will offer the keyboard-equipped Android phone to its customers. No other information is available on Verizon’s website, but the carrier does say that the phone is “coming soon.”

The Priv is available unlocked directly from BlackBerry for a steep $699, but that model only works with GSM networks. In the US, it’s fully-functional and LTE-capable on AT&T and T-Mobile. AT&T also sells its own customized version directly in stores and online. To make a Verizon-capable version, BlackBerry must be developing a second variant with an altered radio to support the carrier’s CDMA network.
